Dr. Gabrielle Kirby, Psy.D., Chief Clinical Officer

Dr. Gabrielle Kirby is the chief clinical officer at Kite Care and a licensed psychologist. She received her Psy.D. in School and Community Psychology at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York, where her doctoral research focused on the diverse learning perceptions of culturally individualistic and collectivistic student populations. Dr. Kirby obtained her certification as a School District Leader from Long Island University Hudson Campus, New York. An advocate for inventive mental health care services, Dr. Kirby has more than 20 years of experience working with public schools in New York City and Long Island, and with local universities and agencies.

Dr. Kirby remains at the forefront of educational and social emotional innovation in her development and implementation of multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) models and supportive social emotional care systems. In addition, she has worked in private practice conducting diagnostic evaluations for students and young adults who fall within the neurodivergent autism spectrum and those who may have learning and developmental delays. Dr. Kirby is dedicated to equitable and affordable mental wellness care for all clients.

Dr. Arlene Archer, Psy.D., Associate Psychologist

Dr. Arlene Archer is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) with certifications as an Anger Management Specialist and Strategic Life Coach. Dr. Archer completed her pre-doctoral internship at the State University of New York at Albany and earned both her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child and Family Therapy from Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her doctoral research focused on factors affecting marital satisfaction within and between European American and African American couples. Dr. Archer’s areas of expertise include working with individuals who present with substance abuse, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and other serious mental health issues. She has worked in juvenile and adult correctional facilities, counseling centers, and private practice.

Dr. Archer also has experience teaching a wide range of courses from elementary school through graduate school levels. She is committed to helping her clients and students identify the obstacles that keep getting in their way, assisting them with finding motivation, and pinpointing any resistance to change. Above all, Dr. Archer is devoted to helping individuals move to a richer place of insight, responsibility, and interpersonal health.

Brandon Barbour, LCSW, Clinical Social Worker

Brandon Barbour, is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a Master of Arts (MA) in Social Work from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, and holds postgraduate certificates in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. His expertise extends to a wide range of areas, including trauma, traumatic stress, trauma assessments, community-based mental health services for immigrants, refugees, and individuals needing specialized trauma-based care. Additionally, Brandon specializes in youth, adolescent, and early childhood mental health, with a focus on the inclusion of marginalized communities and social justice.

Fluent in Spanish, Italian, and English, Brandon is also an experienced community organizer, family team meeting facilitator, child and family therapist, early childhood mental health consultant, and adult psychotherapist. Brandon works with dedication to finding tailored treatments that suit each person’s specific needs and learning style.

Natalia Morales, Intake Coordinator

Each student’s experience with Kite Care begins with a screening that is conducted by Kite Care intake coordinator, Natalia Morales. Natalia works with students and parents to capture complete medical and family histories. A full understanding of medical history helps Natalia match each student with the right therapists, and helps the care team (therapist, students, and parents) make more informed treatment decisions together.  Natalia is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and Portuguese. Multilingual skills allow her to connect with families from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that everyone feels heard and supported from day one.

Samant Virk, MD, Founder & CEO

Kite Care founder and CEO, Dr. Samant Virk, MD, practiced for 21 years as a specialist in pain medicine, neurology, and interventional spine. Dr. Virk’s new mission is to develop current and future-ready resources that help bridge the gap between over-burdened school counselors and students in need of timely and effective mental healthcare.
